Pete Shanahan - Senior Engineer Build/Integration, Dublin
Corvil is a very energetic company. We're constantly developing our software for our customers, and there's a great buzz of people sharing ideas between each other. It's very open, and with these easy interactions, there's a strong feeling that everyone can help bring development forward every day.
That's not to say that builds always succeed - sometimes people make mistakes, and when that happens there is the little roar of a Wookie through the office to hint that it's not all going right!
But we hold daily stand-ups to keep people up to date on team development towards our goals. We have demonstrations of the features that were developed in the previous work cycle, allowing us to showcase the features that we've added to the product to the entire team. This helps people see the effects of their work, which is great for giving people a sense of ownership and belonging. When you demonstrate your feature to the team, it gives you a great boost! To help with development, we follow a few important continuous integration practices and builds of our product. This gives us a regular heartbeat, and if development is intense, then naturally, the heartbeat speeds up. Continuous testing prevents delivering low quality software to our customers, and there’s no greater feeling than catching these problems before they get to our customers. It means more time spent on delivering features and improvements, which is what most developers want.

Working in Sales for Corvil is incredibly fast-paced and dynamic, requiring you to always be learning and building on your knowledge of the product to keep up in a constantly developing market. Corvil’s flexibility in its offering needs to be mirrored by Sales, so we constantly adapt and tailor solutions to solve problems for our global clients.

Providing best-in-class eLearning material to support our product is something that we, at Corvil, have really strived to achieve since the launch of our first course, Corvil Essentials, just over a year ago. In QA, we make sure that the final product delivered to our customers is the best possible. We have to work fast and keep adapting to the changing product. Every day there is a new scenario to test and a new test environment to set up. As the work constantly changes, it is the most interesting job possible.
