Donal Byrne is the CEO of Corvil, and has over twenty five years' experience working in the field of high-performance computer systems, network communications, and real-time data analytics. Donal joined Corvil in 2000 as the non-executive Chairman and since 2002 he has served as CEO driving the company to a leading position in the world of IT data analytics and real-time operational intelligence. His most recent interests are in frictionless business models, economics of web scale IT infrastructure, predictive analytics, the micro biome, bit coin, lean development and the psychology of motivation.
Prior to Corvil, Donal was the Chief Marketing Officer of FirstMark Communications, an alternate broadband service provider in Europe. In 1996, Donal co-founded Berkeley Networks in Silicon Valley, which was acquired in 1998 by Fore Systems, a leader in Internet switching. He was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Fore Systems until the company was acquired a year later by GEC. Between 1993 and 1996, he was Director of Architecture and Product Management at Bay Networks (formerly Synoptics and Wellfleet), responsible for development of next-generation routers and switches. Donal joined Synoptics from Digital Equipment Corporation in Boston, where he led hardware and software engineering development on a wide range of data switching and Internet routing products.
Donal holds B.E. and M.Eng.Sc. degrees from University College, Dublin. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events, and has numerous publications and patents in the field of high-performance computing and low-latency network communication systems.
Raymond is a founder of Corvil and co-inventor of its core technology. He started his career as a research assistant under Prof. John Lewis in the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS). There he worked with John and Fergal Toomey (Chief Scientist with Corvil) in pioneering the measurement of the Large Deviation properties of packet-switched network traffic.
In 1997, Raymond completed his Ph.D. thesis on the transformation of stochastic processes under random time-changes, and took up a part-time Assistant Professorship in DIAS. He used the rest of his time to work with Lewis and Toomey on the foundations of Corvil, which he joined full-time in 2000. He used a central result of his thesis to apply the original form of the technology to IP networks.
Since 2000, Raymond has played an instrumental role in building a strong company and product suite around the core Corvil technology, covering many areas such as network science, product management, technical sales, and field engineering.
As Chief Technology Officer, Raymond is focused on driving continued advancement and fulfillment of Corvil’s innovations with a focus on applications and infrastructure performance. Recently, Raymond has led intensive investigations into performance issues impacting Enterprise applications and utilized this experience to improve Corvil’s product offering.
Fergal is one of Corvil’s founders and a specialist in bandwidth and QoS measurement technologies. He has been involved in the design and development of innovative traffic measurement and analysis algorithms for the past 12 years. Prior to joining Corvil in 2000, Fergal held the position of assistant professor in the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, where he was a member of Prof. John T. Lewis’ applied probability group which also included Raymond Russell, Corvil’s Chief Technology Officer.
At DIAS, Fergal worked on applications ranging from probability theory and game theory to performance modeling and analysis for networks and real-time computing systems. He has published technical papers on subjects including real-time QoS-aware measurement of network traffic and performance analysis of network queuing and scheduling models.
At Corvil Fergal has been intensively involved in developing key product innovations directly applicable to managing IT system performance. Recently he has been involved in applying these innovations in the Enterprise sector to help our customers realize the full capabilities of the product.
Fergal holds an M.Sc. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Applied Probability Theory, both from Trinity College, Dublin.
David is the Chief Business Development Officer at Corvil, bringing more than 20 years of experience in leading technology service provider organizations and in technology strategy, engineering, and operational optimization. Holding senior roles in advisory firms and enterprise IT organizations alike, David has a long track record of success in business growth and improvement and enterprise transformation.
Prior to joining Corvil, David served as Chief Advisor and COO of CS Technology, where he led all aspects of the IT Advisory firm’s Global Service Development and Delivery, Talent functions, Finance, and Business Development. He also worked with C-level IT and business operations executives at some of the world’s largest global enterprises to develop, structure, and implement transformational IT strategies and solutions.
Previously, David served as SVP, Infrastructure Engineering at AIG; Principal with boutique IT Management Consultancy, Nathanson & Company; and various roles with Siemens Business Services such as VP, Marketing & Communications and Director, Consulting Services. David began his career as an entrepreneur, founding a small, specialized technology consultancy before joining Johnson & Johnson’s global Networking and Computing Services organization.
David is responsible for identifying new market opportunities, strategic partnerships and customer segments and for leading Corvil’s Corporate Development function.
James is SVP of Engineering & Operations at Corvil. He joined Corvil in March 2004 as Director of Customer Advocacy with responsibility for the global delivery of technical support, project management and training. In May 2005, James was promoted to VP of Engineering with responsibility for product delivery. In February 2007, his role was expanded to include operations.
James brings extensive management, project management, information systems and software engineering experience to Corvil having held a variety of senior positions at a pan-European and International level. Prior to Corvil, James was VP for Worldwide Services at Adobe Systems in San Jose responsible for service delivery on desktop products and enterprise solutions. From 1999, James was Managing Director of JetForm in Dublin responsible for delivery of business process automation solutions to customers in the financial and government sectors across Europe. In 2001, he took up the position of CIO at JetForm based in Canada. Prior to this, James held a number of consulting and software engineering positions including Practice Manager at ICL/Fujitsu, where he managed large scale data warehouse and ERP developments and deployments.
James holds a Masters in Business Administration from University College Dublin.
Donal is VP Product Management at Corvil. He has over 15 years' experience developing and creating products in the high-performance network and application delivery space. Donal’s team collaborates with clients, sales and development teams, and industry analysts to ensure that the Corvil product is aligned with the requirements of the modern enterprise, while maintaining its strong reputation for technical innovation.
He previously worked in Euristix/Marconi in a technical management role, where he spent several years in San Jose developing and delivering infrastructure management projects to some of the largest global equipment vendors. Donal is named co-inventor on several Corvil patents.
Donal holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Limerick.
Sandra is VP of Finance & Legal Affairs at Corvil. She has focused her professional career in the software industry, holding senior financial roles including responsibility for legal and human resources. Prior to joining Corvil, Sandra held the position of Finance Director at TIBCO Inc, with roles in both EMEA and the United States. Prior to that role she was Vice President of Finance at ObjectStar, as well as head of finance at Cognotec, both with worldwide responsibilities.
Sandra has degrees in business studies from Trinity College, Dublin and in Irish law from Griffith College, Dublin. She is trained as a chartered accountant with PWC in Ireland and Bermuda, qualifying in 1991.
Dan Kennedy is the VP of Sales and GM for the Americas at Corvil, bringing over 18 years of successful global sales management and leadership experience building business technology solutions for the world's largest organizations.
While at Riverbed, Dan built and led a sales organization focused on delivering performance solutions for the world's largest globally connected enterprises addressing strategic initiatives such as mobility, SDN, cloud computing, and big data. Prior to Riverbed, Dan was a VP at Cannon Group where he led all consulting resources as well as affiliated sales and delivery partners. Dan and his teams negotiated large complex outsourcing agreements. Previously, he developed sales programs and opened new markets for Sunesys.
Dan began his career at AT&T and was recognized numerous times with multiple promotions and national honors including AT&T Leader's Council for sales leadership, territory management, and revenue growth.
Dan is a strong leader who values ethics and long term relationships. He is also very active in the community serving on boards at West Chester University as well as numerous non profits organizations.
Elaine is the VP of International Sales at Corvil, responsible for Sales in EMEA and APAC (including Japan). With over 18 years experience in the IT Industry, Elaine started her career with Tellabs in Shannon as a Systems Engineer, supporting their US Field Services team. From there she went on to begin her Sales career with Level3 Communications in NY, where she sold technology solutions to the world's largest Service Providers.
Elaine joined Corvil in 2004, as the Sales Engineering Director in NY but quickly moved into a Sales Director role, where she was instrumental in signing up many of Corvil’s early reference clients. After moving back to Dublin, Elaine continued to play a key role in Corvil’s success, as the company became the market leader for Trade Performance Monitoring to the world’s largest Financial Services institutions, and was promoted into Sales Management. As Corvil and our business solutions have grown into the IT Data analytics company we are today, Elaine now leads a team of sales professionals who are dedicated to ensuring our clients have the real-time operational intelligence to see, understand & act on their business as it’s happening.
